Research In Motion (RIM) has confirmed that they are opening up their upcoming PlayBook to Android apps. However, the tablet won't itself run Android as its operating system, but will run something called the "BlackBerry Tablet OS".
RIM also says that they will be providing a set of tools so that Android developers will be able to port their existing apps to the device as well. The apps will be distributed through the BlackBerry App World.
