iDownloadBlog reported with no clarification on sources that the next version of Apple's media player iTunes will be getting a major overhaul as well as some significant new features.
They "heard" the following information from a "reliable source":
- User interface will change
- iTunes Store will not be just a web browser, but integrated into the app
- iCloud backups will be integrated into iTunes, with a copy of your iOS backup on iCloud also staying on your computer
- App data will be saved in iCloud backups (game level data, preferences in apps etc)
To know what will actually happen, we will have to wait and watch. Apple is generally very secretive about their not-yet-released products and hiding details about software is a lot easier than hiding details about hardware that is being manufactured by another company in another country. If you ask me, these rumors may be less reliable than the iPad and iPhone design leaks that keep showing up.
